Homeowners choked up after delivery driver fixes, salutes American flag

What began with an everyday package delivery ended with a quiet but strong gesture of patriotism by a Michigan Amazon driver. As captured on video, Delawrence Jones stopped in front of Tom and Jenni Dexter’s home to straighten and solute their American flag after delivering a package.  Tom said he was about to leave the house when he saw Jones’ patriotic act on the door security camera. "I got a little choked up," he told " Fox & Friends First " Friday alongside Jones. "He took the time to honor the flag, honor the country and he appreciates what we appreciate." West Virginia bans child marriages for age 15 and younger

West Virginia will no longer allow children under 16 to marry, after the governor signed a compromise bill Wednesday. The law signed by Republican Gov. Jim Justice continues allowing children ages 16 and 17 to get married with restrictions. Under the new law, those minors must get parental consent and can’t marry someone more than four years older than them. Existing legal marriages, and those done in other states, are unaffected. Previously, anyone younger than 16 could have gotten married with a judge’s waiver. WEST VIRGINIA HOUSE PASSES BILL TO BAN CHILD MARRIAGE Similar bills to ban child marriage were proposed in recent years but didn’t get traction. Some Democrats, including the bill's sponsor, Del. Kayla Young off Kanawha County, had hoped to eliminate child marriage altogether. Some Republicans in the GOP-dominated Legislature spoke about how they or their parents had married before adulthood and argued that state recognition of the relationships helps keep families t

Human remains found in Lake Mead are from Las Vegas man who drowned in 1974, officials say

Skeletal remains found in a severely dry Lake Mead near Las Vegas last year have been identified as those of a man who vanished from the area in the 1970s, officials say.  Donald P. Smith of North Las Vegas was 39 at the time of his reported drowning in April 1974, according to a news release from the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner.  " The identification was based on DNA analysis and reports from the original incident," the office said. "The cause and manner of Mr. Smith’s death was determined to be drowning and accidental."  The office said skeletal remains belonging to Smith first were discovered in the Callville Bay area of Lake Mead Oct. 17, 2022, by contractors doing work near the marina there.  LAKE MEAD BODY IN BARREL IS VICTIM WHO WAS LIKELY SHOT DECADES AGO, POLICE SAY   "Additional remains were found on Oct. 19, 2022, which were determined to belong to the same person as those remains found on Oct. 17," it added.  Th

Democrats reintroduce gun safety legislation immediately following Nashville school shooting

Two days after a school shooter killed three children and three staff members at a private Christian school in Nashville, Democratic lawmakers are reintroducing legislation they say would help the nation understand an "ongoing gun violence epidemic."  House and Senate Democrats held a press conference Wednesday afternoon reigniting their effort to fund research at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that would track gun violence in the United States and inform firearm safety measures . "We know this is not a panacea, but it's a piece of the puzzle that for 20 years was barred because knowledge is power," bill sponsor Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., said. "For too long, the [National Rifle Association] and their acolytes in the United States House and Senate have wanted to take the power away from the people."  The Gun Violence Prevention Research Act, which Democratic lawmakers have put forward after several mass shootings in recent years

Opinion: The cruel twist that harms women in the military

Days after the Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to an abortion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, I received a call from a former officer in the US Air Force. Gwyneth Paltrow's version of ski collision 'matches' laws of physics: expert

The Utah ski crash trial involving Gwyneth Paltrow and retired optometrist Terry Sanderson is heating up, as both sides attempt to prove they were not responsible for the collision that allegedly left Sanderson badly injured. During Tuesday's testimony, Paltrow's lawyers called biomechanical engineer Irving Scher. He testified that the 50-year-old actress' version of the collision matched the laws of physics. "For [Craig] Ramon's version, I couldn't get it to work," Scher told the jury. "It doesn't match with the laws of physics. The complete part of his testimony just doesn't fit." Paltrow claimed in her testimony that Sanderson skied into her from behind, and they fell as if they were spooning to the right, landing with their heads uphill. However, Craig Ramon – the only person who claims to be an eyewitness to the collision – claimed Paltrow skied into Sanderson from behind. In his version of events, Sanderson fell forward, face pl

Supreme Court asked to rule on state law that prohibits therapists from counseling against gender transition

FIRST ON FOX –  The Supreme Court has been asked to rule on a Washington state law that bans therapists from encouraging patients against transitioning to a different gender. On Monday, the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a civil rights nonprofit firm, filed a petition to the Supreme Court for Brian Tingley, a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state who claims the law is unconstitutional because it prohibits certain private client-counselor conversations on sexual orientation and gender. ADF says the law only allows a one-way discussion about gender transitioning.  "For example, it allows counseling conversations that aim to steer young people toward a transgender identity but prohibits conversations that aim to help that same person return to comfort with his or her sex," the group said. "There are no legal consequences if Petitioner Brian Tingley tells his neighbor about the emerging international medical consensus to treat gender dysphoria with watch

Trump rally goes silent after he attempts to mock DeSantis

Former President Donald Trump took aim at potential Republican primary foe Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis during a recent campaign event, with much of the criticism garnering little enthusiasm from those in attendance. During his Saturday campaign event in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, Trump argued that DeSantis had little chance of becoming Florida's governor without the former president's endorsement, with Trump breaking into an impersonation of DeSantis allegedly begging him for his support in the state's 2018 Republican primary. "So, he came, and he really wanted [my endorsement]. I said, ‘You can’t win, can you? How do you – can [you] win?'" Trump said, recalling the alleged conversation with DeSantis. "‘Sir, if you endorse me, I’ll win. Please, please, sir, endorse me,'" Trump continued as he acted out a crying, begging voice. 2024 WATCH: THE WEEK THAT RON DESANTIS STARTED PUNCHING BACK AT DONALD TRUMP While similar jabs against political oppo
